FAQ 4 -- What is Soref/What does it mean to be Small and Mighty?


The Soref Initiative is an initiative through Hillel to help provide resources and support for campuses across the US and Canada that have small Jewish populations. All that is required is that you have a small Jewish population on campus and no full time professional staff member.
This does not mean you need to be a small school, while yes we have many small schools that are Soref campuses we also have many large schools. We have commuter campuses, city campuses, rural campuses. Pretty much any type of school you can think of we have in the Soref Initiative. Small and mighty does not refer to the size of your school, but only to the size of your Jewish population.
