FAQ 3 -- If my school does not have a Hillel what do I do?

If your school does not currently have a Hillel it is easy to become one! There are just a few simple steps you must complete.

  • Become a registered student organization on your campus
  • Recruit students who want to be a part of your group who you think will help create meaningful Jewish experiences
  • Find an advisor on campus who you can rely upon to help you out and guide you
  • Then go to the Affiliations page
  • Fill in the form either fax it back to 202-449-6608 or e-mail it to Soref@hillel.org
  • Then just wait to hear from a representative in the Soref department to let you know you have officially started a Hillel.

If at any point in this process you have trouble just reach out to Soref at soref@hillel.org.

** please note: Unless your campus’s Jewish student organization is officially affiliated with Hillel you cannot call it a Hillel.
