In celebration of the holiday of Purim, it is a tradition to give out goodie bags called Mishloach Manot. The rules for Mishloach Manot are simple, they must consist of foods that are ready to eat and of at least two different food groups. An example could be a Mishloach Manot filled with candy bars and juice boxes, or jelly beans and an apple. It's really up to you! Set up a booth on campus and hand out your Mishloach Manot while explaining about the holiday of Purim.

The Plan: Start thinking about how you'd like to put together your Mishloach Manot keeping in mind your budget. Ziploc baggies? Little boxes tied with bows? Donated Chinese food containers? From there, let size be your guide and choose from foods that fit into your container. Check out the stock at stores like Costco and Sam's Club for the best deal on candies,
drinks and fruit in bulk. Then you'll need to start assembling! Gather together a team a few nights before you plan to pass them out and it will go much faster.

Making it Happen: Once you've secured your spot on campus, lay out the Mishloach Manot so they look attractive and inviting. Be sure to have any pamphlets, such as calenders, there as well since this is the perfect time to spread the word about Hillel.

Strategies for Success: In order to make this a really successful publicity event for Hillel, the people behind the booth have to be visibly enthusiastic the whole time. This can be very tiring, so try and make a schedule beforehand with a few different Hillel students so that everyone can get some time off.

Variables: If you're having a big Purim bash, this can be used in the week before for great publicity. To step up the Purim theme a little bit, lay out groggers and masks along with the Mishloach Manot.
